Brock Wild Finish 2nd Half with Dominant Win Over Hurricanes! Move into 1st! February 5th.
On Sunday February 5th, The Brock Wild played host to the always tough Woodville Hurricanes.

The boys were on a high coming off back to back wins over Lindsay White and Lindsay Teal and were prepared to show everyone why we are a force to be reckoned with.

In the first period the Wild came out flying with intense pressure in the Woodville zone as the Woodvile defenders scrambled to keep the puck out.

Yerema, Dowswell, Haecker and Wilson were towers of power on the blue line as Woodville just could not get the puck past them to clear their zone.

Late in the period, the hard work paid off as Howell was sent in on a breakaway on a nice pass from Haecker and scored to put the Wild on the board.

In the second the Wild continued to put pressure on with several quality scoring chances before Giguere would give the boys a 2-0 lead with a great shot that found the back of the net.

Wilson would add another late in the period off a great end to end rush that ended with a fantastic wrister on the blocker side and the boys were off to the races.

Underwood was solid and made several key saves and appeared to be headed for a shut-out until the Hurricanes would squeeze one through the pads to end the shut out  bid.

But that would be as close as they’d come as Howell would add 2 more in the period to complete his second consecutive hat-trick.

Parry, Benge, Bugg and Dewsbury provided some great checking and all 4 would have several chances to score.

Oke and Mitchell continued their strong play with several great rushes and also did some fantastic back-checking.

The win moves the Wild into sole position of 1st place in the second half standings with 12 points. Lindsay White is close behind with 11 points and 2 games remaining, followed by Lindsay Teal with 10 points and 1 game left and then Sturgeon Lake with 8 points and 3 games remaining.

So now the boys play the waiting game to see how the remaining games work out and determine our final playoff seeding.

Great work boys! Let’s hope the remaining games work in our favor to secure a top 2 finish! Either way we have proven that we are indeed a top contender!

The boys will travel to Norwood this weekend for a 2 day tournament to get us ready for the playoffs!
