Second tough opponent in as many days was to test the mettle of the Boys and see how they handled a bit of competition. Scoreless first period but the boys kept their feet moving and had lots of chances. A chance for Ethan M early in the second, but there was too much net to shoot at, so he shot it at the tender instead. After the drop of the puck on the ensuing faceoff though, he got his redemption and buried the first of the game. Newcastle then tied it up almost 2 mins later. Then a minute after that Footie converted a nice effort, dekeing out the defense and burying it between the pipes and giving us the lead. The third period was a back and forth effort for both teams, but the score held up in our favor. Lots of unconverted chances were our Achilles heel today.
