Atom Reds Continue to Climb Standings with Wins over Woodville and Kawartha!
The Brock Wild extended their win streak to 4 games with dominate wins over Woodville and Kawartha last week.

On December 10th the Wild travelled to Woodville to take on the Hurricanes.

This one started out pretty close as Woodville battled us hard in the first period. The score remained tied at zero until 3 minutes left in the period when Farell made some nice moves to carry the puck around 4 Hurricanes defenders and blast one into the low corner to get the Wild on the board.

The Wild would strike again with just 5 seconds left as Lo Presti would carry the puck into the Hurricanes zone and fire a beauty to make it 2-0.

Totton almost added another in the final 5 seconds but the buzzer just went as the puck crossed the line as the game remained 2-0 after 1 period.

The Hurricanes would continue to hang on tough for the 2nd period, but were just no match for our Wild. 2 minutes in Adomeit would take a beauty pass from Farell and walk in all alone to make a beautiful deke to pad the Wild lead to 3-0.

Then at the midway point of the second Marshall would put the game out of reach with a beauty Orr-like rush from end to end and finish with a beauty deke to give the Wild a commanding 4-0 lead heading into the 3rd.

In the 3rd it was all Wild as our troops would add 7 goals in the 3rd enroute to a 11-0 victory!

Totton, Payne, Birchard and Farell would all add singles while Marshall would add 2 more to complete the hat trick. Adomeit would also score his 2nd of the game late in the period to finish off the scoring for the Wild.

Pardy would get his 2nd shutout of the year. Though he did not face a lot of shots he was solid when he needed to be making some challenging saves throughout the game, especially in the first 2 periods.

On December 12th the Wild were back at it again this time hosting the Kawartha Coyotes.

This one started out a little shaky as the Wild would cough it up in our own end allowing the Coyote attacker to go in all alone and beat Pardy on the short side to put us down 1-0 less than 1 minute in.

The Wild would soon get back on track though as Lo Presti would bang in a rebound of a Mitchell blast to tie the game at 1 at the midway point of the first period.

Just 30 seconds later the Wild would strike again. This time it was Underwood, playing his first game of the season as a forward, banging in a rebound from a Marshall point shot to give the Wild the 2-1 lead. Underwood would move to forward to replace Birchard who could not dress due to flu-like symptoms.

But the lead would be short-lived as the Coyotes would get one back with just 3 minutes to go as they would slide one just under Pardy’s pad to once again tie the game at 2.

In the 2nd the Wild would explode for 4 unanswered goals by Wilson, Adomeit, Marshall and Farell, to secure a 6-2 lead after 2 periods.

The Coyotes would get one back late in the 3rd on a lucky bounce off of Pardy’s pads right onto the stick of the Coyotes forward who would slide it in to narrow the lead to 6-3. But just 30 seconds later the Wild would finish them off with a nice pass from Adomeit to Farell who would bury it for his 2nd of the game to complete the 7-3 victory.

The win would extend the Wild’s win streak to 4 games and vault the Wild into the top 3 in the league standings with a 7-2-0 record.

Great effort from everyone in both games.

Pardy was solid in both games making the big saves when he needed to. Totton, Underwood, Wilson, Haecker and Marshall continued their dominance on the Wild blue line as they continue to be a force to be reckoned with for opposing teams.

The Wild continue to roll 3 solid lines of forwards with all getting some great chances to score. Parry, Mitchell and Beattie all had some real nice chances but just could get the puck to the back of the net. All three players showed great effort and determination and each had several close chances.

Adomeit, Farell and Payne continued to show incredible skill with the puck creating a lot of offense and setting up some great plays in the offensive zone.

Birchard, Lo Presti and Cohoon provided some great fore-checking down low and each had a ton of quality shots on goal.

Next up for the Wild was a home date with the Millbrook Stars on December 19th.

Stay tuned.

Keep up the good work Wild!
