Atom Green Explode with 5 Wins in 6 Games to Start Playoffs!
The Brock Wild Green team have hit the ground running in their quest to win the Tri-County “B” Championship winning 5 of their 1st 6 games to take over 1st place in the standings!

The Wild opened their playoff run with an impressive 4-1 victory over their cross-town rivals the Brock Reds.

Oke scored 2 goals for the Wild with individual markers by Kirkhner and Housser. Malcolm picked up 2 assists on the night with Bugg picking up another.

Watt was solid in net for the Greens holding the Reds attackers to just 1 goal.

Our 2nd game was against the top seeded Sturgeon Thunder. The Wild started out strong having twice held leads of 1-0 and then 2-1 but 4 quick goals by Sturgeon in the 2nd sealed the Green teams fate as we fell 6-2.

The loss seemed to ignite the Wild as they would explode offensively in each of their next 4 games winning handily by scores of 8-1, 7-1, 4-0 and 8-0. The 3rd game was the exclamation point as we bounced Sturgeon 4-0 in dominating fashion to avenge our previous loss.

Oke would continue his torrid scoring pace with 12 goals in the 4 wins while 6 other players would also score goals including 4 by Bugg, 3 each by Underwood and Malcolm, 2 each by Parry and Housser and a single by Francis.

Geissberger, Hunt, Harder and Kirkhner would all pick up assists in the wins as every player on the team picked up at least 1 point during the 4 game win streak.

Watt was a rock in net picking up his 2nd and 3rd shut-outs of the season.

The Wild now find themselves tied with Sturgeon at the top of the standings with 2 games remaining in the round robin stage. The Wild hold the tie breaker having scored more goals than Sturgeon (33 to 27).

Our next victim will be the Woodville Hurricanes on Saturday followed by the Kawartha Coyotes on Sunday. A win on Saturday will guarantee our spot in the 2nd round while winning both games will secure us the home ice advantage in the next round.

The team is firing on all cylinders both offensively and defensively. Let’s keep up the hard work and finish the round robin strong!

Let’s Go Wild!
