Wild Storm into Woodville and “Slama” the Hurricanes!
Coming off a tough loss to Mariposa on Sunday, the Wild were pumped up to redeem themselves against our fierce rivals, the Woodville Hurricanes.

The Wild came out hard from the very start in this one and continued right to the very finish.

On the very 1st shift the Wild would get on the board. Hudsy made a great pass over to Slammer who would fire it home to give the Wild an early 1-0 lead.

The Hurricanes tried to counter-attack but the Wild were on a mission and stopped them in their tracks.

Then late in the period the Wild would strike again. Once again it was Slammer getting in all alone and making a nice move to deke the goalie and slide it home for a 2-0 lead heading into the 2nd.

In the 2nd the Wild continued their attack. Just 30 seconds in Slammer would complete the hat trick. Powsey would get in close and fire one towards the net where Slammer was there to hammer in the rebound and the Wild were up 3-0!

Just 3 minutes later it was Slammer again! This time he caught the Hurricanes net minder out of position and put it into the open side for his 4th goal the night as the Wild took a commanding 4-0 lead!

The Hurricanes cam on strong in the last half of the period but Half-Price stoned them with some beauty saves to keep them off the board.

In the 3rd period the Wild would add to the lead. This time Vonzy got in all alone and fired one past the Hurricanes goalie as the Wild padded the lead to 5. Vonzy came very close in the 2nd period with a couple goal posts and was finally rewarded on this one.

Late in the period the Hurricanes would end the shut-out bid as Ari Lamb jetted down the wing and fired a hard lazer that just eluded the blocker of Half-Price to put the Hurricanes on the board.

But just 10 seconds later the Wild would regain the 5 goal lead. Vonzy would get loose again and fire a hard shot that was stopped by the Hurricanes goalie but Powsey was going hard to the net and hammered in the rebound for a 6-1 lead!

The Hurricanes would get nasty late in the period trying to take liberties with one of our players but ran into more than they bargained for in the form of Wild Bill.

2 Hurricanes converged on him and tried to land a body check on Wild Bill but it was the Hurricanes players who would both go down while Wild Bill bounced right back and continued on with 2 downed Hurricanes in his wake.

Both Hurricanes players would leave the ice feeling the pain as the game would end 6-1! Not only did we win the battle on the scoreboard but we also won the war on the ice!

Wild Bill had an amazing game and came very close to scoring. His best chance came in the 2nd period as he took a cross ice feed and hammered a hard one-timer but was robbed but the Hurricanes goalie as he slid across the crease and got just enough of it to keep it out of the net.

Our defense of Pulley, Lynchy, Kirky and Crusty were rock solid all game allowing Half-Price to see the puck and clearing the rebounds while also getting the puck hard out of our end.

Slammer and Vonzy were strong down the middle showing some great hussle at both ends of the rink.

Our wingers, Hudsy, Payner, Termi-Nater, Powesy and Wild Bill were a force all night, putting a ton of pressure on the Hurricanes defense and winning battles along the boards.

Half-Price had another strong game in goal.

The Wild were down one man as Reesor was unable to attend but the remaining players were able to step up their play to cover for the loss.

Another great team effort. Keep it up Wild! I may sound like a broken record, but I cannot be any more proud of each and every player on this team. They continue to amaze us with just how much they are improving with each and every game!
