U13 Wild WIN their first with a strong team effort!
Even a power outage and last minute rink change couldn’t stop the U-13-Rep team from their first win of the season!!!
With a convincing 6-2 win over the Lindsay Muskies Sunday night in Cannington it appears this team is hitting their stride. The Wild had a strong 5 on 5 effort and dominated in special teams with 3 goals on the penalty kill. "Every player knew their job last night. Forwards were working together passing the puck and putting pucks in the back of the net, defense doing a great job of shutting down their offence and “Soupy” standing tall in net. When we work as a team great things happen," said Coach Dan Lynch.
With a tie against the Durham Crusaders Saturday there was definitely motivation to get the extra point. "The team was fired up for this one. Everyone was pulling their weight, playing as a team and putting their hearts out on the line. It didn't matter if the game was in Beaverton, Cannington or a pond in the back field, they weren't leaving without a W,” expressed Assistant Coach Lucas Powlesland.
Team captain Bradley Pearce scored a beauty with a howitzer that went crossbar in. “The team played awesome tonight and we pulled out the W, what a great weekend with a tie on Saturday and a win on Sunday”, said Bradley. The team will be on the road for two tough games against Woodville and Highland Storm and have a tournament this weekend in Delhi.
