In the second game of a home and home, the Boys seemed interested in trying something new, so all 4 defense went to join the forward ranks, and Toggy, Tp, Bryden, and Footie all volunteered to patrol the blue line for us. I think it was an eye opening experience for all involved, that maybe the opposite isnt as easy as some people make it look. That didnt stop TP from scoring though, as he got two, one off a rush and one off a beauty Clapper that gave the goalie no chance to save. Dougie chipped in with 3 points, Sawyer finished off a nice passing play for his 9th of the year, and Macleish finished off the scoring with a beauty as well. Most notable of the game is the fact we managed to stay out of the penalty box for the first time since the playoffs began! See you Friday Boys!

We hoped for a little redemption for our Boys in this game, as Lindsay seemed to have our number all year. Down one nothing after the first period in lots of back and forth action and some great defensive plays. Both teams forgot to play defence in the second as a total of 7 goals were scored in the period! Unfortunately, we were down 5-3 after that flurry of goals. The third period was a little more defensively sound, and despite having 3 powerplays in the third, we were not able to capitalize and ended up losing by two goals. One more chance at Lindsay boys, lets take it to them!

With the pressure of the playoffs behind them, the boys played a real loosey-goosey kind of hockey, that actually worked out for them in the end. Keeping up with a good forecheck and backcheck, the boys picked away at the Woodville goalie and wound up with a big score. Highlights included Toggy with a 6 point night, Malcolm with a 4 point night, Bryden and Dougie with three point nights. Lots of passing was the key to the game. Aiden had to turn away a few tough shots, narrowly missing the shutout.
Keep up the good work boys, and get ready for Lindsay on Sunday!

For those that came out last night to watch, you were certainly treated to an amazing game! TP started us out right off the first faceoff, skating through everyone, beat the goalie, but somehow rang it off the end of the 'tenders stick, but buried his next opportunity to open the scoring. High speed, back and forth play was seen, before Sturgeon netted 2 to end the period behind. Footie tied it up in the second, finishing a nice passing play from Kruz and Dougie to tie it up. Behind to start the third, we took the play to them and played a really gritty game in the corners to keep Sturgeon on their heels. Macleish scored a beauty to tie it up, crashing the crease and jamming a rebound in. Unfortunately, a couple of late penalties allowed Sturgeon to score and end our season.

After yesterdays blowout, the boys looked to continue their winning ways in Sturgeons home barn. They didn't come out as on fire as they did yesterday, with Sturgeon getting the lead in the first minute of play. They held that lead for the whole period until Toggy converted a nice outlet pass from Allison to knot the score before the end of the first. Footie worked some of his magic early in the second, converting a rebound from Dougie, giving us the lead! Unfortunately, Sturgeon scored two before the end of the period, seeing us go into the break in a hole. Some hard, back and forth play with our kids playing their butts off with tonnes of chances, their goalie with some extremely lucky saves, including a glove save that he never even saw, sealed our fate.
