On Saturday morning, our Mite White squad took on our
toughest opponent of the year as the boys travelled to Oakwood to take on the
12-1 Mariposa Lightning.
Our boys were outnumbered in this one as Mariposa had a full squad while the Brock Whites began the game missing 4 of our key players leaving us with just 1 player on the bench.
Despite the numbers, our boys played a great game! Jayvon was awesome in goal making a ton of saves including an incredible glove save!
The boys got a huge lift late in the 2nd when Derek made it and was able to give our boys some much needed rest.
Unfortunately fatigue did catch up with our boys ending the game with a tough 6-0 loss. It should be noted however that Mariposa had been averaging almost 9 goals per game until now so our boys should hold their heads high.
To Johnny, Eric, Rhys, Owen, Garnet, Declan, Jayvon and Derek you should all be very proud of how extremely well each of you played. None of you ever gave up despite being extremely exhausted. Each one of did everything that the coaches asked of you from shooting the puck up the boards, to making great passes and blocking shots you all did a fantastic job against a truly great opponent.
Keep up the excellent work. We are all very, very proud!
