Game 5 - At Kawartha
It would be hard to believe that some how Kawartha has lost the gamesheet from game 5, but I want to get this out of the way before the next series starts, so here goes....
WE WON WE WON WE WON WE WON WE WON WE WON WE WON WE WON WE WON!
Here's how it happened...
Hard to believe after the first weekend, but the 'Bys found themselves in a situation where it came down to a one game, winner take all situation on Saturday. The stands were full, and the pressure should have been on their shoulders, but the 'Bys didnt feel any of it and skated their hearts out.

First period was a back and forth affair that ended in a 0-0 tie. Mavy potted the first goal of the game in the second, shorthanded nonetheless, to take some wind out of Kawarthas sails. TP then got the second goal to give us a good lead. Sustained pressure was the key, but Kawartha managed to get one before the period was out. The dressing room was loose in between periods, but maybe too loose, as Kawartha got one early in the third to tie it up. Things were getting tenser and the 'Bys started playing harder. Footie broke the tie and gave us a 3-2 lead. That only lasted a little bit though, as 21 got up to his old tricks, and jammed one in from the crease as we were short handed. Knotted at three, the period played out, and to overtime it went. Off the opening face-off, we got the puck deep and it came out to TP who buried it top shelf to win the game 20 secs in!!!!!
Lesson learned from this game: At least 5 out of the 8 goals (one shorthanded from each team, and 3 PP goals) came with someone in the penalty box, going to have to be aware of that for the next series.
WAY TO GO 'BYS!!!! to come back from 2-0 down and take three straight against a team that only lost 3 games all season showed a lot of grit and determination that will serve us well in the next round vs Sturgeon.
GO WILD!!!!
