Brock Wild Finally Beat Lindsay Teal! - January 29th
On Sunday January 28th the Brock Wild played host to the Lindsay Muskies Teal at the Ice Palace (aka Cannington).

Coming off tough back to back 1 goal losses the boys were in tough with their 3rd game in as many days against the one team that we have never been able to defeat.

But on this day, our boys came through with one of the best team games we have played all year.

In the first, the Muskies looked like they may take it to us again like our previous meeting, however Mitchell was on a mission and made several spectacular saves to keep the score tied until late in the period when the Wild would break through with a goal by Howell to give the boys a 1-0 lead heading into the 2nd.

The Muskies put loads of pressure on in the second firing shot after shot but Mitchell was in a groove and just could not be beaten. On one play the Muskies had a clear breakaway and fired a perfect shot that had its sights on top left corner but Mitchell somehow got his glove on it for a sensational save that wiped out the Muskies confidence and seemed to provide the boys with a huge spark heading into the 3rd.

Early in the 3rd the Wild would add the insurance marker with a big slap shot from Howell that found its way through a maze of players and into the back of the net to give the Wild a 2-0 lead.

For the rest of the game the Muskies just could not get anything going as our Wild played amazing defense to preserve a 2-0 shut-out victory for Mitchell.

The win proves that our boys can indeed beat anyone in the league on any given night.

Oke, Wilson and Giguere made several nice rushes and several quality chances while Bugg, Dewsbury and Benge were all over the Muskie zone all game creating all kinds of chances.

Underwood, Yerema and Dowswell were towers of power on defense creating several turnovers and did an excellent job clearing our zone.

Perhaps the biggest surprise of the game was Parry exploding in the 3rd showing exceptional speed to fly past 2 Muskie defenders to beat them to the puck and fire a terrific wrist shot that almost found the back of the net. Unfortunately the Muskie goalie got just enough to deflect the shot wide.  Parry would be a force the rest of the game earning himself the Player of the Game honors.

It was an awesome way to end a very busy weekend.

Way to go boys! We are all very proud!

Next up is Lindsay White on Thursday. Go Wild go!
