Wyatt Gives the Coyotes Something to Howl About
In a game that we could not afford to lose if we wanted another shot at Lindsay Black, our team played amazing. Lots of great fore-checking, back-checking and driving to the Coyotes net. Down 1-0, Wyatt took his spot at the edge of the crease and tucked a shot in the bottom corner for his first of the year! By the end of the first we had given up 2 quick ones to go down 3-1. But as we have several times this year, we did not give up. Caden Birchard got us back to within 1 when his shot from center ice baffled the Kawartha netminder.
Just 4 minutes later, Wyatt started a nifty 3-way passing play to Travis Yake who fed it through the Coyotes defence to spring Callum More free for the tying goal. Less than a minute later, while killing a penalty, Aron Barnett buried a rebound from Bryden Parliament shot to give us a lead. Although we were unable to keep the lead, we skated away with a well deserved 4-4 tie (especially when the man in the striped shirt seemed to be playing for the other side).
Wyatt Beattie earned player of the game honours with his 1 goal and 1 assist.
