Game #3 MATTERS!
After losing the opening game of our best of 3 series with Lindsay Black in Beaverton on March 7th, it seemed that game 3 would not be needed. After all, we had not even earned as much as a single point in 2 seasons against this team. But those statistics are now part of history as our team evened the series at 1-1 in prototypical Brock White style - we came from behind to win 4-3!
After falling behind early in the first, we tied it shortly after on goal from Bryden Parliament with determined fore-checking from Travis Yake and Wyatt Beattie drawing the assists. But the opponent struck for 2 more before the end of the first period to lead 3-1. Between periods, we knew that the score did not reflect who was the better team and that if we kept working hard and stuck to the game plan, we could still get back in the game. And that we did! A second goal from the Parliament, Yake and Beattie line shifted the momentum. Shortly after, Callum More fired a hard shot from the blue line that eluded the Lindsay goalie to tie the game. Before the period was over The Tazmanian Devil notched his third of the game and the eventual winner!
From that point, it was stellar defence from Callum More, Aron Barnett, Grace Totton and Kale Oldham and amazing defensive zone play by every forward. But this win wouldn't be complete without The Iron Curtain (Liam Flood) stopping every shot thrown at him for the final 2 periods!
This was by far the best game of the season!
We have 1 last task and that is to repeat this performance on Wednesday March 15th at 6:30 in Lindsay - 1 game -winner take all.
