Tykes Battle Hard in Tough Loss to Millbrook Stars!
The Brock Wild completed our 3 game home stand Saturday against the Millbrook Stars.

The first period was very evenly matched with both teams exchanging several quality scoring chances. Blake Brock was stellar in goal making several nice saves including a breakaway to keep the score at 0-0 heading into the 2nd period.

In the 2nd period, Millbrook put on the pressure and got a few lucky bounces along the way as they would finally solve our Wild goalie early in the second period. This seemed to give the Stars a huge boost as they would continue to increase the pressure in our end and add 3 more before the period would end mounting a huge 4-0 lead heading into the 3rd period. The Wild had a few quality chances to at the other end as well but the Stars goalie made some spectacular saves to keep our Wild off the scoreboard.

The Stars would add another early in the 3rd but the Wild did not give up as they continued to play hard and responded with several quality scoring chances. Midway through the period the hard work would finally pay off as Kaiden Smith fired a shot off of the pads of the Millbrook netminder and right onto the stick of Ethan Kirkos who would bury it to reduce the Stars lead to 4.

But the Stars would strike back shortly after on a breakaway and the lead was once again extended to 5. Despite the score the Wild continued to work hard and would add another as Eric Parry took a pass from Rhys Benge and carried the puck around the Stars net and jammed it under the pads with some nice second effort.

The Wild would continue to battle but ultimately fell to the Stars by a final score of 7-2.

Regardless of the score, each player worked hard right to the very end.

The forwards Bradley Pearce, Ethan Kirkos, Karsyn Payne, John Malcolm, Camden Slama, Eric Parry, Kael Cresanto, Borden Davidson and Nathan Giles all battled hard in the offensive zone and created several chances all game long but just could not get the puck to go in.

The defense of Rhys Benge, Kaiden Smith, Mason Stewart and Colin Lynch battled hard all game long and made some very nice passes out of the Wild zone while also jumping into the attack to create scoring chances at the other end.

Blake Brock was a rock in net making several nice saves.

Kaiden Smith was given the Feral player of the game for showing great hussel every shift and going hard after the puck.

Overall great effort by everyone. We continue to see much improvement in each player every game. Keep working hard Wild!

Next game is on the road against the Kawartha Red Coyotes on Friday night in Omemee. Eric Parry will get the start in goal.
