Wild and Coyotes Call it a Draw
Submitted
By Murray Yake on Dec 09, 2017 (935 views)
In our first game in 15 days, as we appeared a little rusty due to a lack of competitive game action. We came out of the gate in the first a little slow and allowed the Coyotes to open the scoring just 2 minutes in. That seemed to wake up the Wild as we dominated to play for the rest of the first period. Shift after shift, we created several chances, but were just unable to convert one to tie the game.

Brock Green Leaves Lindsay Teal Feeling Blue
Submitted
By Murray Yake on Nov 27, 2017 (685 views)
Fresh off a great showing in the West Lorne Tournament, the Wild got back to playing Three County with a tilt in Lindsay against the Muskies Teal. Hayden Hine was made Captain for the game as it would be his last in a Brock uniform. Hayden led the team onto the ice. His teammates let him circle the ice on his own in tribute. Dax Giguere got it started mid way through the first with the assists going to Campbell Ellis and Travis Yake. The game stayed that way until late in the second period, when Brody Bugg converted a pass from Jacob Archambault to give us a 2-0 lead.

West Lorne Tourny, Semi Final vs Strathroy Rockets
Submitted
By Murray Yake on Nov 27, 2017 (560 views)
We had our work cut out for us as our Semi Final opponents came into the game having not surrendered a goal in the tournament. The Rockets lived up to their billing. A team of very good skaters with a goal tender that was a master of covering the lower part of the net. Although we had several chances in close, we just couldn't get the puck into the top half of the net. Liam Flood did his best to keep us in the game, making multiple saves on opponent's breakaways and long shots with his catching glove.

West Lorne Tourny, Game 3 vs Twin Centre Stars
Submitted
By Murray Yake on Nov 27, 2017 (581 views)
A win in Game 3 would give us a chance at top seed in the semi-finals, a tie would get us to the semis and a loss would send us home. The Stars could only advance with a win. It was a very tense atmosphere as the teams traded chances before the Stars took a 1-0 lead half way through the first. Aron Barnett tied the score with 1:08 to go, assisted by Hunter Nunn. Aron continued with the hot stick early in the second notching his second, assisted by Liam Benge, to give us the lead. Just 17 seconds later, Travis Yake made it 3-1 after stealing the puck from the Stars defender. Liam Benge then ...

West Lorne Tourny, Game 2 vs West London Hawks
Submitted
By Murray Yake on Nov 27, 2017 (679 views)
Having observed our opponent in action before our first game the night before, we knew we would have to be on our game if we were to come away with a victory. The Hawks started the scoring just 45 seconds in, and doubled their lead just 4 minutes later. Brody Bugg got us back to within 1 with 1:26 left in the first by burying a centering pass from Travis Yake. The second period was evenly matched as the teams traded goals. The Brock goal scored by Jacob Archambault, assisted by Charlie Dowswell.
