West Lorne Tourny, Game 1 vs Barrie
Having travelled nearly 3 hours to get to our destination, The Wild got set to battle the Colts from Barrie. We started quickly with a goal from Dax Giguere just 1:34 in. Hunter Nunn picked up the assist. Our side dominated the opposition but were not having much luck increasing the lead. With 3:32 left in the first, the Colts got lucky when we scored an own-goal that seemed to happen as if in slow motion. Although deflated some, The Wild would not be denied as Hunter Nunn restored the lead just 30 seconds later. Aron Barnett and Dax Giguere picked up the assists.
During the second period, The Wild dominated shift after shift with every line getting several chances to score. Aron Barnett doubled the lead with assists from Dax and Hunter. After missing on several breakaways, Travis Yake increased the lead to 4-1 with the going to Campbell Ellis. Jacob Archambault notched the only 3rd period marker, assisted by Charlie Dowswell and Colton Housser. Brock wins 5-1. Jacob received the Player of the Game Puck.
