Parry Scores! Wild Open Playoffs With Dominate Win Over Lindsay Teal!
The Atom Reds opened their playoff season Tuesday night at home against the Lindsay Teal.  The Wild swept the regular season series with 2 close victories and were fully prepared for a close battle.

The Wild came out hard in this one from the opening faceoff, putting lots of pressure on Lindsay early.

Midway through the 1st period, the Wild would strike first as Farell would hammer it home after getting a nice feed from Payne to get the Wild off and running.

Just seconds later Adomeit would break in and fire a shot that was stopped by the Lindsay net-minder but going hard to the net with his stick on the ice was Parry who fired home the rebound to silence the Lindsay fans and send the Brock crowd into a frenzy! It was Parry’s first goal of the season and couldn’t have come at a better time knocking the wind out of Lindsay’s sails!

The Wild would keep coming in waves with several nice shots by Lo Presti, Cohoon and Mitchell as the Lindsay net-minder made some nice saves to keep Lindsay in the game.

But just minutes later the Wild would pounce again. This time it was Marshall making one of his trademark end to end rushes and finishing with a beauty deke to give the Wild a commanding 3-0 lead after just 1 period of play.

The Wild would not let off the gas in the 2nd as they continued to put a ton of pressure on the Lindsay defense.

Adomeit came very close to extending the lead to 4 early in the period as he and Marshall teamed up for a highlight reel play with Marshall carrying it deep into the Lindsay zone and laying a beauty pass to Adomeit who would just barely miss the net.

Lo Presti and Cohoon also came very close with one off the post and another one that was robbed by the Lindsay net-minder.

Lindsay tried as much as they could to get one back but Pardy was solid as usual turning away any chances that got through our tough defense as the 2nd would come to an end with the Wild still holding a 3-0 lead.

In the 3rd the Wild would put this one away. Just 1 minute in Farell would make a magnificent rush into the Lindsay zone and then made an awesome deke to put the Wild up 4-0.

Just minutes later Farell would complete the hat-trick as he would bang home the rebound on a Marshall blast from the point and extend the Wild lead to 5-0!

Lindsay tried to put together a counter attack but the Wild defense was just too strong. With less than 2 minutes to go the Wild would put the exclamation mark on the victory as Lo Presti would take a nice feed from Mitchell and slam the puck into the top of the net to seal an impressive 6-0 victory!

From a big goal from Parry, a hat-trick by Farell and a shut-out by Pardy the Wild had a lot of reasons to celebrate this one!

Our defense of Totton, Wilson, Marshall and Underwood were beasts in this one as they did an amazing job keeping the puck in the Lindsay zone and limiting the number of offensive chances by the Lindsay attackers. Missing one of our most reliable defenders (Haecker), the remaining 4 really stepped it up a notch to shut down the Lindsay attack.

Pardy was solid when he needed to be making some difficult saves to preserve his 5th shut-out of the season!

Mason Pardy and William Parry shared player of the game honors. In addition to scoring his first goal Parry also made some nice defensive plays and came close to getting a 2nd goal as well.

Farell was a force all night with a 3 goal effort while Mitchell, Lo Presti, Adomeit and Cohoon were buzzing all game with several nice chances and some beauty passing.

Payne, Birchard and Beattie showed a lot of grit and hussle in this one putting a lot of pressure on the Lindsay defenders down low.

An overall great start to the post-season as our troops played like a team on mission to bring home the Gold!

Great work Wild!

The Wild are right back at it tonight as they travel to Oshawa to take on the dreaded Durham Crusaders. The Crusaders swept the regular season series with 2 close victories but have not seen the vastly improved Brock squad since way back in November. Boy are they in for a rude awakening!

Let’s go Wild!!
