The Bulldog Takes a Bite Out of the Lightning!
Having been shut out in the game on Friday, our pre-game chat centered around passing and getting shots to the net. It seemed to help as we shared the puck more and got more shots on goal. Travis (The Bulldog) Yake got it started with his first of three just 2 1/2 minutes into the first period. That was followed by one from Bryden Parliament and one from Cole Vipond before the end of the second period.
After the Lightning pulled to within 1 early in the third, Travis put the game away with 2 more to complete the hattrick. Another strong performance at centre by Cole Vipond and a huge effort from Wyatt Beattie who chipped in with 2 assists earned them post game praise. But the game belonged to the Bulldog who took player of the game honours for his 3 goals and 1 assist in the 5-2 win.
