And meltdown we did. After carrying the play for the first 16 minutes of the game and holding a 3-1 lead, we seemed to go flat for the last 3 1/2 minutes of the second period. It didn't matter which line was on the ice, we just couldn't get the momentum back. By the end of the second period, we had given up 5 straight goals and were trailing 6-3. Although we worked hard to get things going in the third, it just wasn't meant to be as the game ended without any more scoring.
Scoring for Brock were Bryden Parliament, Travis Yake and Caden Birchard each with one. Caden also skated away with the player of the game award for mucking and grinding in the corners and playing hard in our own zone. Although the score didn't indicate it, Liam Flood had a strong game in net, making several glove saves.
