Another Great Effort by Tykes in Tough Loss to Mariposa
The Brock Wild played their home opener Saturday against a very tough squad from Mariposa.

The first period saw a flurry of activity in the Wild end as the Mariposa forwards put intense pressure on our defense. But Blake Brock was fantastic in goal making several spectacular saves. Eventually the Mariposa attackers managed to get one by on a scramble in front to take an early lead. John Malcolm would get us back a few minutes later with a great end to end rush and a blast into the bottow corner to tie the score at one.

But late in the period the Lightning would strike again with a great shot that alluded the Wild netminder to give the guests a 2-1 lead after the first period.

The second and third periods were fought very hard by the Wild but unfortunately the bounces just would not go our way as the Lightning would 3 more goals in each period en route to an 8-1 victory over our Wild crew.

Despite the score, everyone showed a great effort and kept working hard right to the final buzzer. From the goalie out our team never gave up and gave us 100% on every shift.

All 3 forward lines had several chances to score and all did a great job of getting back to help the defense. The forward lines for the match were John Malcolm between Karsyn Payne and Bradley Pearce, Borden Davidson between Kaiden Smith and Mason Stewart and Kael Cresanto between Colin Lynch and Nathan Giles. All showed excellent grit and determination on each and every shift.

The defense also played a very strong game getting pucks up the boards and out of our end and clearing the crease in front of Blake. The defense for the game were Rhys Benge partnered with Eric Parry and Ethan Kirkos paired with Camden Slama.

Blake Brock was a rock in the net making several incredible saves.

The Feral player of the game went to Ethan Kirkos for his solid defensive play all game.

Keep working hard everyone! We are seeing great improvement with every game and we know the wins will surely come.

Next up is the Durham Crusaders on Thursday October 26th at 6:00 in Beaverton. Eric Parry will make is home debut in goal. Hope to see everyone there.

Go Wild Go!! Keep up the hard work!!
